Leopard and Tiger systems Macbook

Good Day apple users.
I have yet not bought my macbook , but will tomorrow.
my friends tell me get the Leopard version and not the tiger version, may I know what these relate to? I didn't ask them as I didn't want to look dumb  :-\ do help....

The Leopard version of MacOS is the newest Mac OS 10 version. Tiger is the version before it. (Quite frankly, I think naming your operating system after animals is a bit silly.. especially when they are all supposedly the same "version" of the operating system)

Or you could just get a PC Laptop and skip Apple altogether.

If you are purchasing your Apple computer brand new, you don't have to worry... all new machines come with Leopard already installed.
