Pacific Digital DVD Writer
« on: February 10, 2005, 10:31:28 AM »
I've just purchased and installed a Pacific Digital DVD Writer and it runs well however, I have a Yamaha CD re-writer that I use as a cd-rom to play games. I do not want to use the DVD writer for all functions available because I feel that it will shorten it's life. The problem is that when I put a game disc in my Yamaha and click the icon to play, a blank white screen comes up without showing the disc's contents. The Yamaha does show up in Device manager but I can't seem to get the drive to function. My guess would be that the Pacific Digital has chosen itself as the propriatory drive. I contacted Pacific Digital support but received no answer (Not Suprised) Thanks in advance.

Have you tried updating your drivers? Also, which operating system are you using?

Same exact thing happened to me, had to unplug computer and reboot.  Matter of fact, have to do it everytime I use the burner.  ;D

I tried PD an Iomega DVD burners.  Had problems with both.  I finally returned them both and bought a Sony DVD burner (external) it works great!
Are your Master an Slave connections right? Just a thought. :)
