Movie maker for dvd player

Hi guys,

i jsut wanted to know if anyone know a good software to use to make a movie that works on DVD. I had some digital photos that i made a slideshow with, with music and transitions and effects and everything it looked great i was giving it as a present. i wrote it onto the CD but then it wouldnt play on my DVD i was using the windows movie maker program thats already on my computer. I use windows XP IE7
SP2. Can anyone tell me of a good one that can let me play the cd on my dvd.

You want to burn those movies to DVD rather, then CD.

what format is the slideshow being published as?

its being saved as MSWMM format, i have downloaded a program called Wondershare Video to DVD, but it doesnt recognise the MSWMM format. It also doesnt have the good affects like Movie maker does. Please help.

A .MSWMM file is a Windows Movie Maker project file.

In Windows Movie Maker, go to File --> Export.

The project file, when saved is in the wmv format (windows media video). Then use a free converter such as internet video converter or "super" to convert to dvd format...

For movie editing you might want to try the free video spin, which is supposedly a bit better than movie maker.  Short review of video spin here at digital inspiration...
