Old computer don't know username/password
« on: February 01, 2005, 08:16:49 PM »
My father passed away and I have his old laptop. Problem is, I can't log on since I don't have his username and/or password. How do I bypass this and still keep his old files?

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

in a windows 98 system, just try hitting cancel or the little x button. It may just let you log in anyway.
Let us kow how it worked out.

If you remove the battery that is on the mobo .......for say 30 seconds or so and then replace it .......the bios password will be gone ......Just a word of caution ......you may wish to have someone thats worked on laptops do this for you ......opening up a laptop isnt the same as opening a desk top .....

      Hope this helps you .
