We recently got a wireless router and have 2 older desktop computers.  The newer one the installation man gave us a wireless card. The older one he hooked up to the "wireless" box with an ethernet cable.  But I cannot get the computer to hook up thro the cable--it insists on using the dial up modem.  I have Windows ME.  How do I direct the computer to go thro the ethernet cable?  Thanks.  Jerry

In Windows Me...go into Internet Options and select the Connections Tab.  Make sure Never dial a connection is selected.  Save the settings by cicking Apply and/or OK.

You should be good to go...

Keep us posted.
