java update problem

How do I create a new profile??

Start/Control Panel/User Accounts/Create a new account

Then use this account to try to install the new Java.

sfc /scannow
Click OK.
Have Windows CD ready.

It won't do. Do you know anyone, you could borrow Windows XP CD?
Let's try one more thing.
Download Java 1.6.0.5: http://filehippo.com/download_java_runtime/3868/, and try to install it.

Made some calls.............can't seem to find the CD..........also tried the 1.6.05 install..........no luck ............sorry

One more try...

Go Start>Run, type in:
msconfig
Click OK.

Uncheck AVG entry(-ies), so it won't start after reboot.
Restart computer.
Try Java again.

Go, or no go, go back to msconfig, enable AVG, and restart.
