    Virus freezing programs?
    « on: June 15, 2008, 09:40:28 AM »
    Hello!
Recently I have been having a problem with my laptop. Whenever I run flash on Firefox, Firefox freezes. This freeze also cause some other programs to freeze. By freeze, I dont mean as in Taskmanager will close it, I mean that the only way to get rid of them is to completely shut down my laptop. I cant even minimize the programs.   ??? Any help would be great  :-\

Does this happen only in Firefox?
Is it a specific game or all flash games/animations?

Do you think it maybe overheating?
I suggest you download Speedfan and tell us the Idle temps and the temps when you're browsing/gaming.

It only starts in Firefox, but progresses to freeze most programs. It seems to be all Flash, both games and the animations, though Flash being the reason it crashes, is only an estimated guess as that seems to be when it freezes.

      Running speed fan I get:
      HD0: 47C
      Temp1:51C
      Core:43C

I very much doubt that overheating is the problem as the freeze comes as soon as I run flash, not in the middle of running it.

I would start by reinstalling Flash in Firefox.

It also appears that playing music using a media player, such as Itunes, Ares etc also causes that program alone to freeze.

Well, after forcing firefox to freeze, VIA opening youtube, The temperature reading stays the exact same.

What does Task Manager say about CPU usage, when freezing happens?

                  It stays below around 20%.
