Windows Defender?

I really really really suggest you get a better antivirus software beside Windows Defender.
There are many free antivirus software out there, many of them which are recommended here in the Forums.

It may be doing the daily clean in the background...
However since WD scored one of the lowest in the latest tests at finding threats you may be better off without it.
List your current Protection apps and perhaps we can make some suggestions on beefing up your arsenal...

AVG FREE (has anti-spyware built in)
    AVAST! (anti-virus only)
SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY (spyware removal)

these are the apps i have used and its a personal choice at what you would prefer

    This is inaccurate at best...

However they do have a seperate program to deal with this called AVG Anti-Spyware.
Also FREE but you need both for the protection.

AVG Antispyware is no longer available as a stand alone. It comes bundled with the new AVG 8.0.

      Download and install:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_spywareblaster/ < Runs in the background, free version you must update manually every other week or so.
http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/ < Free and very effective malware scanner

Delete it, it will slow down your system significantly.  It was causing problems for me.
