16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
« on: February 13, 2005, 05:23:43 PM »
C:\WINDOWS\system32\command.com
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEMS32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable fro running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

???

What does that mean?

any Windows XP professionals?

Bring up a  command prompt and copy a spare autoexec.nt.

ie: copy c:\windows\repair\autoexec.nt c:\windows\system32

Reply "Y: to overwrite an existing file.

This also works for config.nt

Good luck.  8)

Did you open a command prompt? If so, then enter the following command from the C: prompt:

copy c:\windows\repair\autoexec.nt c:\windows\system32

This works for XP and W2K machines. Not sure about ME. Win9x does not use autoexec.nt, it uses autoexec.bat

Hope this helps.  8)
