While we became distracted i believe our poster has disappeared.truenorth

Haha im still here and appreciate all your comments!

I like what drmsucks and michaewlewis proposed. I just want a harddrive that isn't "inside my computer" but instead outside and  independant of its own  for storage purpose. Like you know in case the files in my computer are infected with virus or sorts i'll at least have a seperate harddrive that contain my important files . Not so much for portability because i just want a harddrive for storage that isn't a part of my computer.

@Gameaholic: Welcome back! I've had a WD 160GB Passport for a year or so and love it! Couldn't find the Ebay auction but posted a couple of links from Amazon and Newegg to give you a frame of reference:

          http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=western+digital+passport&x=0&y=0

          http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150414+50001306+1035907839&name=Western+Digital

          Good Luck

Okay, we get the point. If you post it again, it will be considered spam and deleted.

Whoa - this is not spam. I indirectly asked for it in the post directly above when I said that I couldn't find the Ebay auction. He merely provided me (and others) with directions to do that so we could comment on the drive and price.

No - Thanks for the Ebay lesson. :)

Looks good if the seller is legit! I don't know the market in the UK so don't know if the links that I gave you for reference will be useful - they're obviously for the US.

                    Enjoy your new HD!

EDIT: I note that a criterion you mentioned in your original post was 'quiet.' For what it's worth, my Passport 160GB is virtually silent! Don't know about the 320 GB but would expect it to be the same.

Sorry, at first it looked like it was his own item he was selling because it was posted three times by a new member. Spammers usually do the same thing.
Sorry roger, I didn't mean to offend you.... :-[

Got it from Micro-Direct in Manchester.
Get their Web Site up and check it out.

As far as being portable, it's the same size as an ordinary External Drive, but a bit thicker.

Plug it into the mains, and connect with a USB Cable that comes with it.
