computer keeps trying to open new pages
    « on: June 26, 2008, 06:19:14 AM »
I believe I have gotten some type of virus.  My computer keeps attempting to open up new tabs, or new pages whenever I go onto the internet.  I have tried running some different spybot removal programs, but the problem still persists.  Is there any advice you can give me.

When it tries to open up  new tab, I get a page cannot be found message and the following information appears on the screen:

I am running Vista on my HP pavilliondv9000 laptop.  The security system I am using is norton, but I think it has expired.  I downloaded Spybot search and destroy this morning.  I have also tried using spyware cleaner 2008 from rnsafe software corporation.  Neither of these programs seem to have fixed the problem.  I tried to follow the steps that were sent to me by downloading Avast! home edition, and it caused problems with my computer starting up.  I am also having a problem unistalling Norton antivirus from the computer

I'm really clueless about this type of thing.  What logs are you talking about? How do I get to them so that I can let you see them
