Computer Specs:
-Windows XP SP2 2002
-AMD Athlon 64 Processor
-384 MB of RAM (it was supposed to be 512 but thats what it says)
-I have one have drive, split in two (dont know how to say it)
-Im currently using Kaspersky Antivirus
It all started because my pc started crashing with small amounts of work
, it worried me cause i dont have many files, and i havent installed a lot of software. That's why i wanted to defrag both C: and E:, defragmented C and when i tried to do the other one a message popped up, it was someting like this:
"The disk defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is programmed to be executed on volume E:
Run Chkdsk /f"
And so i did, when chkdsk window came up it asked me if i wanted to run chkdsk next time i turn on my computer, i said yes because i thought that after that i would be able to run the defragmenter
. But now everytime i start windows this thing similar to old scandisk comes up and starts looking for errors in my hard drive
. I already went to chkdsk /f and told it to stop....it wont. Keeps coming up, and the defragmenter wont defrag the unit because the same message keeps showing up
.... whats wrong?
