Did i loose space when reformatting my pc?
    « on: July 04, 2008, 10:01:48 AM »
I am not pc savvy so i am not sure if i am being paranoid or not. After many attempts to re install the OS I finally realized that i have to delete the partition. I did this. I also packed my pc with 4 gigs and it showed I had 3.25 gigs . Before the re install I had twice as many programs on my pc and more dish space. Now after the reformating I have less programs and have used more disk space. Is there any reason why this is happening? Sorry if I cant explain myself to well but i dont have the computer terminology that all of u here have. Here is a pic of my space..there seems to be more blue space used then before i reformated

This is correct - a 32 bit OS (operating system like Windows XP) can only 'use' the amount of RAM that is shown.

I can't explain this - perhaps your recollection of how much space was used before the re-install isn't quite right. Nonetheless, you certainly have plenty of free space (unused space) and don't need to worry. :)

      Best of luck!
