    deleted file help
    « on: July 06, 2008, 12:37:03 PM »
I have been burning dvd's using dvd shrink 3.2. While I was cruising around the net I almost downloaded spyware but my antivirus stoped it. To make sure nothing got through I ran a system sweep and it told me that I had a file wich contained a trojan horse so i deleted it. I tried to burn a dvd and when it reaches the writing part the burn is terminated and I get the error of 1A20-0316-0010-2522-5586-6029. It looks alot like the file the antivirus told me I should delete. I removed and then re-downloaded dvd shrink and the same thing happened. Is the a way to get that file back? Or re-install it somehow? please help  It could be a nero problem.

I tried to burn a dvd. I have uninstalled my stock nero and installed nero 7 thinking it may replace that file and it still doesnt work. I downloaded imgburn and express burn and they dont work either. The disk drive still burns music cds so I know its not that. I have no idea what to do.

If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?

I am using windows xp. I can still play dvds. I am not infected with any type of spyware. I deleted a file because i thought it was infected and the file I deleted seems to have something to do with me not being able to burn a dvd.

All right then, if you're so sure you don't have a virus, we'll have a look at the DVD Problem.

What file are you burning and where did you get it?
What is the exact error message it gives?
Can you burn other DVD's? (or on other discs)

You may be running XP but it is installed on a FAT32 partition.....
