Do bootable disks have to be floppy?
    « on: July 06, 2008, 02:19:22 PM »
I need to download a bootable disk, and would find it easier to do it on CD, as opposed to floppies, because my working computer is a laptop.  Must it be the old floppies?

Just FYI, I have the unmountable boot volume error on my HP desktop.  I can not find my Windows XP CD, if it came with one. So I need to make a bootable disk to get into the Recovery Console.

You can use a bootable floppy image to make a bootable CD-ROM or DVD-ROM.

There are lots and lots of guides on the web, as you will see if you type make bootable CD into Google.

    This one seems particularly clear
