How to remove cmos battery in presario c300
    « on: July 09, 2008, 03:14:12 AM »
Well I got this laptop yesterday, and it has issues, can't get online but thats the least of the problems. It came with a power on password, and it worked fine, now it won't work at all. I am making sure the caps is not on, but it tells me it is invalid, and shuts the comp down. I was told I can erase it if I remove the cmos battery for a few moments, then put it back in.....but I cannot find it. Please help!

the most I can tell you about this laptop is it has win xp.

       ;)
The CMOS battery should be on the mother board. Open your laptop and have a look on the motherboard.

Ok yes I got brave because I found a repair manual online that explained how to find the cmos battery and how to get it out....very very useful manual! So now I am doing a PC repair on the system hopefully that will fix the other probs, otherwise I'll be back!
