Something to try when a full screen program locks-up
    « on: July 11, 2008, 12:07:05 PM »
i have been asking questions and getting answers for a long time here on Computer Hope.. so i'm going to try be useful for once. this is something i always do when i can't close a program. (always fixed crashes on World of Warcraft.. and has helped other times in the past too when i can find no other way of closing)

    Windows Logo Key+R
    type "cmd" (type slowly)
    press Enter
    wait a few secconds...
    Alt+Enter
wait for command promt to display (black screen)
    Alt+Enter again
your task bar will now show.
right click the program on the task bar and
    Close.

    hope this helps someone  :)

I used Ccleaner and msconfig. I unticked dozens of programs and got rid of 1.5GB System Temporary Files alone.
Also, the pictures I got for the Fragmented and Defragmented Hard Disks in the FAQ are from their computer.  :D

       8)
      i try

but really, it is a good way. for me when i've tried to bring up task manager at times it does not show.. it will be there, but only behind the frozen screen (like you move the mouse around and u'll see the cursor change to the rezise cursor when you hit a edge of a window, but still can't see it) and when you do this Alt+Enter, Alt+Enter it seems to just refresh the screen so you can see past the frozen screen.. Win+D does the same thing sometimes too.

Use Revo Uninstaller To Terminate Unresponsive Processes

Using Revo all you do is drag and drop the Hunter into the window or into the program in the task bar and select Kill process. Super simple and Revo is useful for much more including completely uninstalling software.
