Operating system not found
« on: April 22, 2004, 03:01:55 PM »
Hi,

I just purchased a PC from a library that erased the Operating System. I try to install DOS with the 3 disks starting with the 1st startup disk and it brings up No Operating System found each time. I know the floppy drive works because when I try a regular floppy it gives me the non-system disk error. I have used the DOS disks before in the same manner, could they be bad? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Never mind, I got my hands on a new set of DOS disks at worked, tried them, and they worked great. The first set must have gone bad......So that's why they upgraded to CD's    ;D

WHEN YOU USE THE FLOPPY DISK TO START PC. WHY DON'T YOU COPY THE FLOPPY ON AN CD IF YOU HAVE AN R-WRITER THAT IS WHAT I DID AND IF THE FLOPPY GOES BAD YOU HAVE AN BACKUP. :) ??? ??? :-/ :-/ :) ::) ::)
