Want IE icon on the deskyop

I have Windows XP, 2nd ed. and Foxfire. I just downloaded IE7. All seems OK, but I have no IE icon on the desktop. How do I get one ?....Thanks

Right Click the Desktop, go to Properties


Click on the Desktop Tab.


Click on Customize Desktop and make sure the Internet Explorer check box is checked.


Press OK and OK again.

but I follow instructions dow to "Desktop Items"...but there is no "Internet Explorer" box.............Huh??

Try this then:
Go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\
Right Click Iexplorer.exe and click Send To --> Desktop

That will create a shortcut on the desktop.

Hi again.....success of sorts in putting shortcut to IE on desktop
But when I hit the IE icon,  I get an endless delay (> 5 min ), and never got connected.....any thoughts ?

Where do you get that message? What is the full error message?
Does this happen in Firefox too, is that why you installed IE7?

Yea I actually think it's an infection too.
