Monitors
« on: July 22, 2008, 12:12:15 PM »
Ok here's possibly the dumbest question I'll ever ask but, is there some sort of code name for the flat screen monitors that have the shiny screens? I was thinking about getting a new one cos my current TFT has a busted cable and the monitor keeps going yellow, but as the cable is built into the monitor I can't just change it.

I wanted to get one of the new monitors with the shiny screens, but I can't tell from the pictures on websites. Is there a special code word that I need to look for?

To reply to the original post, the names will vary between manufacturers, for example Sony uses X-Black, Dell uses Tru-Bright or something like that.
They're generally called glossy screens, but the exact term will vary.
I like the glossy screens too, very nice.
Hope this helps.

God at this rate I'm going to have to go into a shop and pay the extra.

*Goes into PC shop, points "That one... oooh shiny"

Thanks anyway.

If you give us a link, we can tell you what type of monitor it is.  ;)

You could always go to the store and write down the model numbers of the monitors you like and then search for similar ones online.
