    « on: July 20, 2008, 09:58:30 AM »
Desktop worked perfectly, returned from holiday now no output.
Switch on, fans run, green led on motherboard on, HDD running, Hdd led stays on for 25 secs., no beeps and that's it.
Changed Hdd and video card - no change

      Thanks for replies
No light at monitor, I have connected my laptop to monitor and it works fine.
Have now disconnected all drives so motherboard, video card and power supply are only items live.
No output and no beeps, reconnected HDD same result.

        No beeps = RAM problem.

Have you done anything with regard to memory? Memtest86?

Remove all but one module, re-boot, repeat, one module at a time.
If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?

If you can get acess to a pci video card try to, and install it as a test. From what you say your monitor lite doec not show., thi means no signal from card to monitor. Also check the cable from card to monitor.

          Hi
          Thanks for all your help
After exhaustive tests, lots of substitution and sleepless nights, it turned out to be a faulty power supply!
          Regards to all

How did you determine that it was the psu - substitution?

Terrific that you tracked down the problem, best of luck!
