Hello, I have been searching the net because I have this same problem, it has progressively gotten worse and it took about ten restarts today before I was able to do anything on my computer, I am currently on the computer with said problem do you advise me also to attempt the repair install?
EDIT: Also I was looking at the malware removing topic and does CCleaner Slim or SuperAntivirus have any negative effects with Charter High Speed Security Suite? Because some programs such as adware don't allow it to work.
    Thank you in advanced

Following someone else's advice can be dangerous.

how would it be dangerous if two people had the exact same problem.

i bolded "exact" because rymyst3rio can't be sure if he/she has the exact same problem, and that's what i'm pointing out.

should rymyst3rio be absolutely certain that his/her problem is the exact same to digitaltidbits, then theoretically he/she would be given the same advice, and should follow the same advice.  :)

that is true I am almost certain it is the same problem because my computer hangs on start up with an hourglass over the start bar and I am unable to do anything. My computer does seem to work after a few restarts though, another website suggested a possible power source fault, does that make sense to any of you?

I doubt it's a PSU problem, does it happen in safe mode?

good of someone to split the topic.

since rymyst3rio says he/she has the exact same problem as digitaltidbits, that means he/she can't access anything, even in safe mode.

Exact same problems don't always have the exact same causes or solutions.

hence, it wouldn't be exactly the same. only the symptoms are congruent. causes and solutions, as you said, could be different.

ok JXY I get your point already it probably isn't the exact same problem, regardless, I haven't tried getting into safe mode because I never know if the computer will work in the standard start up or not. But when the problem does occur (every start up) I am unable to click anything bring up Ctrl-Alt-Delete, or even click the start button. So I have had to improperly shut down the computer many times. Next time the problem occurs I will attempt to start up in safe mode, (btw, this may be a coincidence but today I tried disconnecting my printer after shutting of the computer again. And then it started up fine).

You never said anything about causes/solutions being exactly the same, only the problems.  Two problems can be exactly the same while still having different causes and solutions.  Computers are fun like that.
