End Program Message During XP Home Shut down
    « on: August 02, 2008, 10:25:19 AM »
When I shut down XP Home, I get a End Program cc Svc Hst message.  Until I select End, the dialogue box remains open, and Windows will not shut down.  How can I get rid of this message?

That looks like a Norton file I think - I have at times had this show up - sometimes it'll end for itself, others it needs my input to end.  Right now my shutdown has been 'clean' but I'd not be surprised to see it happen again.  Another culprit I have had in past was '.NET' coming up this way.

I regard it as mainly an irritation and in fact on last computer I used to often get a Zone Alarm file do it too .... and never found a fix so - just lived with it.

      This is potentially harmful advice.
