Password for windows, how to create

I have Windows xp and I need help with setting up a password for ?DOS?

I want it to ask for a password when the black screen with text comes up

so you want a boot password, let's see.

Enter BIOS setup when your computer starts, keep pressing F12 i think. buttons vary from pc to pc.

and there should be a tab labeled security or something along those lines.

Find it, navigate to it, and then set a BIOS password. (Startup - password).

Enable it, save it, reboot computer.
