system restore is a blank white page!!!help!!

a friend sent me avast antivirus to my email i dl the file..and i noticed yahoo im wasnt working among other things ..so i uninstalled the avast..now i can type and see it till i push send..so i tried to do a system restore..but when it opens it s  a blank white page..i do not have a windows disk or anything like that..does anyone know how i can fix theese problems or what happened to cause them?

Why did you uninstall the Antivirus?

because once i installed it everything started messing up..like when online certain things wouldnt work i couldnt use my yahoo instant messanger  it would also be whit and blank ..and the only thing i could think was it ws because i installed the avast..
