    Time and Date skip.
    « on: August 08, 2008, 02:43:40 PM »
Every time I come on the computer, it says a wrong time and a date. I try to change it, but it keeps doing the same thing. I think it's a virus, but I need to make sure. What's going on?

The first thing you should is change the battery.
Windows 8 and Windows 10 dual boot with two SSD's

What battery? I'm not using a laptop, just a desktop.

He doesn't mean a laptop battery. On the motherboard of the computer is a little battery like the ones you get in watches and clocks. Among other things, it runs the system clock when the computer is turned off. if the computer is losing or forgetting the date and time it's a pretty good bet that the battery is coming to the end of its life. How old is the computer?

You may need to take it to a repair shop if you do not have experience of opening up the case or you are unsure about doing that. You would need to take the old one out to show when you ask for a new one.

Why did you think it was a virus?
