keyboard and mouse won't respond

My wife downloaded a Logitech update for her mouse and keyboard. The result is that they won't respond at all. Have Windows XP an GoBack but can't get into GoBack because the mouse and keyboard don't work. What do I do?

What type of keyboard, and mouse? USB? Wireless? PS/2?
