    Voice Issues
    « on: August 14, 2008, 08:28:32 PM »
I recently purchased a logitech headset and it was working just great.
Now, the sound still works perfectly fine, however the voice doesn't seem to be working. By tampering with it, I think I may have messed things up even more. So heres what happens now:
When testing the voice in the steam chat the only thing the person on the receiving end could hear was loud static, without me making any sort of noise. I've checked to make sure it was in the right ports, and like I said it was working fine till yesterday. However, over a steam game such as Counter Strike-Source, when I hold down my push to talk no one can hear anything at all. :'(
    Thanks in advance!

I should add that before it was static, the receiving person would hear any sound my computer would make, even though I don't have speakers. So in the end, I think it was my tampering that caused the main problem...

I am running Windows XP 32 bit.
With a Intel Core 2 6400 computer, 1 gig of ram.
If you have any other questions about my system, just tell me where I can find the names : O

    Welcome to ComputerHope.

My first suggestion would be to Double Click the Volume Icon in the System Tray (next to the clock)

Now make sure all these sliders are up to full and Untick Mute.

    Try that and post back.

      Look under Options --> Properties.

      Is it there?

Well I found it. But it won't let me adjust it. However, it's about 2/3 all the way up.

Won't let you adjust it? Is it like faded out? What about the tick box?

Ok, plug it in the computer and go to Control Panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices --> Voice Tab --> Test Hardware.

                  I just woke up  :D.

Now just test the hardware and see if the computer detects it or not.
