    "Autorun" mistery
    « on: August 14, 2008, 11:17:45 PM »
    Hello,
         I don't know if it is a mistery or not, but my "Autorun.inf" file would not run on my Windows 98SE while it works OK on Windows XP.
         Could anybody please tell me what is missing in Windows 98SE which gives me the problem, or rather, what is wrong?  Is there any fix?

    Maybe it isn't compatible with Windows 98?

    What is this Autorun?

      Hi,
           Sorry, I just came back from a trip.

           As a matter of fact, it is an extremely simple autorun.inf file which reads as follows:

      [autorun]
      label=name of drive

           The above file wwas then copied to the multicard reader; and it is supposed to assign the given name to this card reader drive upon its insertion.

           However, this .inf file works with Win XP but not with Win98se.

      I'm not completely sure but it might not work in Windows 98.

      Is this a CD or another device?
