After using the recovery on Windows XP, my Mom and Stepfather cannot get the screensavers to work anymore, they will not come on.  What could cause this?

How are they trying to get the Screensavers up?
Are they doing it through Desktop Properties and clicking Preview?

Just to make sure, when they click the Preview Button, they let go of the mouse (dont touch the mouse), right?

      Any error messages at all?

They did a recovery because their computer was crashing.  Then they told me that their screensavers weren't working anymore.

        What Recovery was it?

I did a search online and found this.
Go to Start --> Run --> Type services.msc and press Enter.
Find Task Scheduler and double click it.
Make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic and press OK.

              It means that
if both the list of screensaver item and the preview window is displayed OK. the screensave must be OK.

Did they get a new mouse?  Some of the laser mice dont like to work with screensavers.

That only depends on the type of surface it is on.
They don't like shiny, smooth and reflective surfaces.
