graphics card question...

I just built my computer and it is up and running, thanks to some of you here at computer hope, and yes it works fine there is just one question, i have a nvidia geforce 9800gtx 512mb but for some reason my computer thinks the card alone has 2.2 gb, i was just wondering if anyone knew what might cause this...

so you are reading 2.2gb of RAM in the dxdiag tool? were did you look in dxdiag? did you look in the "display" tab under the "device" header?

Yeah i run dxdiag and under display  in the "device" section where it says "approx. total memory" it says 2284 mb

No... i just installed what was on the cd, i dont know if there is a new driver

Ok, i just installed the new driver and its still saying i have 2.2g of video ram, it doesnt seem to be affecting my game play im still playing crysis and stuff just fine im just wondering why it might say something like that?
