    Mouse and printer OK.

OK well - might help to know what these other deices are .... just to get some idea.

Do you get a bubble saying 'can't recognize'' - or just zilch?

Odd ........ but as I asked - does Win show a bubble when you plug in ... saying ''cannot trecognize'' - or just zilch?

How many USB's you got?  Do printer and mouse work each in all USB sockets?  Only wondering if you have a rogue socket.  Can't think of much else right now, other than inspect in Device manager - see if descriptions mach your ports - ie ... three ports for example - three descriptions - and check properties.
