About two weeks ago I downloaded the newest Yahoo Messenger 9 beta version. During the installation process, it froze and I had to close the program. Later, my computer slowed to a standstill and I opened the Task Manager and looked at the processes. Yahoo Messenger was on there and using between 97 and 100% of the CPU. I clicked End Process on Yahoo Messenger and the computer returned to normal operation.
I then tried to uninstall Yahoo Messenger on the Add/Remove programs in the control panel. When I clicked on it, an error message appeared saying,"Could not open INSTALL.LOG file." So I then went into the Yahoo Messenger program file and could not find any folder that said uninstall or install. All I found was a folder that said "UNWISE," and when I clicked on it the exact same error message reappeared.
I want to uninstall this program desperately because every time I start my computer now I have to end that process. Please help.
I have a Dell that runs Windows XP.
