    no sound sometimes?
    « on: August 28, 2008, 06:43:07 AM »
I just realised Ive got a problem with my computer.
I play games from CD and the sound works fine. I can play games from the hard drive and all is well. I play music CDs and the sound works fine.
Yet when I go online to listen to, say youtube clips, I get nothing. ????

    The computer has an
    AMDAthalon XP 1500+
    1.33 ghz. 992 ram
    Xp service pack 2
80 gig drive. 200 gig external.
    Soundmax integrated digital audio

Can anyone help to fix it? Thanks

My ex girlfriend recently had this exact same problem... I went to have a look at it, but could not find a reason why.

Although, I did try using msconfig (Start > Run > type "msconfig" > hit enter > click the start up tab) and i disabled the tools that were related to the audio (like SoundMAX Manager or something, can't remember the actual name) and it worked.

Like I say, I couldn't find an explanation for this, hence my solution may not work for you (or at all) it may have been coinsidence. I would like to find out if anyone else has had this problem and knows a tried and tested solution...
