    mt laptop is not old and has good video drivers but the screen comes in rather dull it has no color but when i hook the laptop up to an external moniter the colors are deep and vibrent co i know its not the laptop or the parts in it!

    Not necessarily true...

    When you say the screen is dull...

    Do you mean no color?  No back light?

    Possibly the LCD screen inverter on your laptop may be bad.

      no the backlight works and is bright and the screen has color its not black and white the color is just very pale.`

      Check your video settings in Control Panel (or right click on desktop).

      Your video card should have come with some sort of software. Get into it and see what you can do.
