I'm not sure but I don't think that's how you make a bootable disk?

Hi thanks for the quick response.
The information I have was from a site - 10 things to do when windows xp won't boot.
It mentions to format a floppy etc. Then to  open up C/drive copy the three files (from another computer running windows xp).

Once you have the three files on floppy use it to boot the other..............

With this other site you have given please correct me if I am wrong, but will it work for professional ? it says not or am I reading it wrong. computer illiterate sorry ::)

      Yep, it should be.

Also, Boot.ini, NTLDR and Ntdetect.com are located in C:\ (hidden system files)

      So it would be like:

      C:\boot.ini
      C:\NTLDR
      C:\Ntdetect.com

Thank you very much for all your help. I still couldn't find the files in the hidden files, so I'm downloading from the site you have advised.

Thanks heaps, will let you know how I go.  ;D ::)
