Why is the Favorite Comedy Show Poll in here?  If it doesn't belong, somenone will move it.

I don't like Realplayer either.  Added XBMC just to see if anyone has it.  Found it today, haven't tried it yet, but looks good.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_media_players

the usual. Windows Media Player but sometimes i use Quicktime since WMP doesnt do Frame by Frame.
If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows...

Thats why Bill Gates created the Windows NT Family.

Usually Windows Media Player, But I sometimes fire up winamp to rip some of my SNES SPC files or NES NSF files to waveform for insertion into my flash movies :P

''RealPlayer Alternative'' helps avoid most of the RealPlayer nuisance! (so does ''Quicktime Alternative'' for MOV stuff)

My main player is AlShow ...... useful because it has a very handy option to capture a vid frame or sound.

After that - Media Player Classic and VLC.

Win Media Player?  Yuk - loada junk!  :D  ;D
Ain't technology great - until it goes wrong!

I'd probably use my Winamp pro for music as well as ripping if I could figure out how to have multiple playlists, without needing to open the playlist file. Windows Media player does this for me automatically. although it keeps asking me to synch my walkman when I plug it in to charge.

hmm, maybe I'll try a little harder with winamp- no use buying the pro version if I'm not gonna use it. It is definitely far more configurable then WMP, that is for sure.

Anole media player plays many file types, has frame-step, and configurable keyboard shortcuts.  I would've put it on, but nobody has it.  Too bad.

At home I use iTunes 8. When I'm at work / school I use Winamp 5.

I use to use Winamp on a 37GB laptop drive i stuck in an external enclosure on my school issued laptop 'cause they didn't let you install anything. I got annoyed with the restrictions a few months before dropping and getting my GED. So I used my IDE to 44 pin laptop IDE adapter to hook the laptops drive to my desktop, deleted the admin profile, making me the admin.

After I changed some permissions on some things my school issue laptop, it ran faster than any other in the building. Simply because I removed the restrictions that where put on for kids viewing pr0n during class and gaming. Oh, I also snagged the combo drive, and a 256MB DDR 266 stick of RAM from a freshmans laptop. Swapped his 256 for one of the 128's in my laptop, and his combo for my CD-RW drive that didn't work. Bumped my laptop up to 384MB of RAM, wasn't to bad, it'd play UT04 on low settings. I figured, if the school is going to loan me a laptop to use, I'm not gonna use it if it takes nearly ten minutes to boot because of what they've loaded onto it.

It seems WMP is most popular.  I don't like it though.  I now use Anole Media Player for all vids, and some audio.  But I mainly use Itunes or AIMP2 for audio.  Anole has bad playlist function.  But I think its the best for vids.

So you decided to take memory and other parts out of the other schools laptops, and place stuff that didn't even work in exchange? I'm so confused now...

I use iTunes because of my iPod - it's the best free program I can find that interfaces with my iPod, and I occasionally download songs from the iTunes store.

Honestly- I've never used iTunes. But judging from Apples other software offerings (quicktime)... I can only say, "No thanks".

Also I don't have and never plan to get an Ipod. my 4GB Sony Walkman works fine for me.

Well, I do like my iPod, it's got some nice features that make it the best mp3 player around. I have the 80GB iPod Classic, which allows me to play videos, view pictures, that sort of thing. I've got about 1000 songs on it, and that's way less than some people I know.

I just wish it was more durable. It's covered in scratches and it's got some nasty software glitches going on. I'm going to end up buying another one and transferring all my songs over. Which is gonna suck, the Classic is far from cheap. Oh well, I'm gonna spend thousands next summer on a nice new Supa-PC, so this won't be too bad a thing anyway. </justification> ;)

Well- I don't have an iPod because I never could think of a good feature of the thing to justify it's higher price, Aside from size. I "only" have a little over one thousand songs. I probably couldn't fit them all onto my walkman, but I can fit my favourites and my funnysongs playlists, so I'm covered.

Also- one incident that locked me out fro using iPods for a while- I of course know people that have them- and we were comparing them- we agreed that in order to justify a purchase of one, you'd need a lot of music. Anyway, at some point we dropped each of our players- Call it luck, but they pick theirs up- Screen was busted. Mine was perfectly fine.

I use WMP10.  The less installation the better IMO.  Can't stand v11, and also don't like the versions below 10.
Also VLC for files that WMP can't handle by default, and PowerDVD for DVDs.

You know what, I'm moving this to Off Topic, it's languished long enough in Forum Games.

I don't like Realplayer either.  Added XBMC just to see if anyone has it.  Found it today, haven't tried it yet, but looks good.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_media_players

Dude, XBMC is the best media player/center EVER.  Anybody that doesn't have it needs to spend the $50 bucks to get a used xbox on ebay, softmod it and install XBMC.  You will not be sorry.

iTunes needs to be cast into an abysmal bottomless pit along with all of Mac's iProducts, like the iMac, the iPhone. Although, I don't exactly like the idea of this new Microsoft Sync in automobiles either. Who wants Microsoft or Mac anything built into there car as an un-removable product? That's like, the fast food industry telling you all to eat one thing or starve.

Oh, I've never used XBMC on a computer so I can't speak to that.  It is the bomb on an Xbox, though.

I use WMP more than iTunes or VLC, i only use iTunes for My iPhone
                                                          And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
