I've had a virus for awhile now that Norton cant delete. My computer was running horribly for awhile, but I did a ton of virus scans and now it is working much better, but far from perfect. My Norton status icon in the bottom right corner of the screen says that everything is fine, but my computer is still glitchy. For example I get a ton of pop-up when I surf the net, even though pop up blockers are enabled. The computer runs slower than before and sometimes has trouble opening programs. When I do virus searches these days I'll get two variations of Trojan viruses occasionally. I'll delete these and restart the computer and do another scan. All clear, but a week later I'll have two more again.
I called Norton and they said for $99.99 they will go into my computer and delete the virus that is hidden. I already pay for their program! Is there a cheaper alternative from a trusted source that would do the same thing? Can I do myself? I'm not great with computers, but I can get around them. I just want my computer back to the way it used to be. I'd be so grateful for some help and suggestions. Thanks.
