Well, perhaps you should direct him to this forum discussion.  You have plenty of confirmation here that that Best Buy web page does not work right on many computers.

My old computer running Win 98SE and IE 6, that I previously mentioned, does not have AV up to date and spyware scanner, and Win 98SE is no longer supported by Microsoft, so forget the updates.

If we consider, that BestBuy's GeekSquad is a piece of crap, maybe they only accept unprotected, infected computer on their site
