Help finding a new motherboard
« on: September 10, 2008, 05:58:39 PM »
right now i am using an unmodded (except for more RAM) HP Pavilion a1424n.

i need to upgrade my motherboard to one with PCI-e 2.0.  I would like to keep my same CPU and OS.

my CPU is a Pentium 4 3.06GHz dual core, and my OZ is  XP.

my problem is figureing out about 64-bit and 32-bit.  my OS is 32-bit, and i'm sure my CPU is also.  I know that the motherboard figures into this because of the connector with the RAM, so i want to make sure that i can get one that is 32-bit, or find out if it doesn't matter.

Does anyone know of a motherboard that will take that CPU, have PCIe 2.0, and also be able to handle 32-bit?

thanx
