    Turn Tooltips off?

    We all know these



    Is there any way to turn it off? I mean really, do we need to be told what they are for? This is for XP, but would like to do the same for Vista.

    I don't think so.

    Why do you want to turn them off?

      Open Windows Explorer, then Tools > Folder Options > View, and uncheck "Show popup descriptions etc... " near the bottom of the list.  Click "Apply to all folders".

      Maybe Doc Jellybean, like me, finds them irritating and non-informative...

      Regedit at MS KB307729 will stop all balloon tips.

        Correct lol. After having used PC's for more years than I care to remember, I still don't know everything. But I do know what Stand By, Turn Off and Restart means!
