    Weird problem with my browser
    « on: September 09, 2008, 04:22:45 PM »
i dont know how this happened, think it started these past 2 days. anyway, you know when you hover over a link with the cursor, at the bottom of the window it should show the full address to the link right? well for some reason, i dont get this anymore, just stays blank at the bottom. i DO see the full address at the bottom if i right-click on the link though (but not actually going to it).
anyone know what's up with this? its not really a major problem, i CAN live with it and everything else is ok, but it does get annoying sometimes (like when i need to know if the following link is a new page or a file download).
using internet explorer 7, version: 7.0.5730.13

    thanks for reading!
BIG THANKS for whoever finds a solution!

sorry, i think you might have misunderstood what i meant. i wasnt talking about anything to with the links toolbar.
what i meant was, if you hover your mouse cursor over, lets say "dictionary" at the top of this page, at the bottom of the current browser window it should display the full address. i.e. http://www.computerhope.com/jargon.htm , but for some reason it just stays blank on mine. this didnt used to happen

      Download and install CCleaner Slim.

      • Open CCleaner and adjust the options.
      • Go into Options > Advanced uncheck Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours
      • Click Cleaner on the left then Run Cleaner on the right to run the program.
      • Important: Make sure that ALL browser windows are closed before selecting Run Cleaner
      • Exit CCleaner after it has completed its process.
      .
Clear the Internet Cache in IE 7 - Click here for instructions

      Restart Internet Explorer.

      Any changes?

             1.  In Internet Explorer 7, go to Tools > Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab.
             2. Click the Reset... button near the bottom. A window will appear explaining to you what restoring your settings will do to your browser. For example, your favorite bookmarks will not be erased. Your add-ons will be disable and your temporary internet files and cookies will get erased. Most users will not notice these items are gone or can easily re-enable them later. So if your browser is unstable, we recommend that you reset your browser settings.
             3. Click Reset.
             4. You will be prompted to close and reopen your browser.
