The Official Computer Hope Forums Welcoming Committee

I have decided to create the Un-official Computer Hope Forums Welcoming Committee.  Computer Hope Forum members will become eligible to join through constant, consistent, and friendly welcoming of new members.  This includes: posting regularly in the "Welcome new users -- introduce yourself" thread; being helpful with new members and their questions; and being patient with less knowledgeable members.  Be sure that your welcomes are personal, not generic.

The foundation of this committee is the idea of having a core group of people who enjoy welcoming new members.  The more people we have, the more likely it is there will be someone on-line to welcome new members.  On top of this foundation, new ideas may be built.

New members will be able make their own titles.  For the moment, titles are arbitrary, but may become functional in the future.

Do not ask to join this committee, it is by invitation only.  Once a member, you may place text in your profile denoting that you are a member of the UCHFWC.  Do not do so if you are not a member.  If you become eligible to join this committee, a member will PM you and ask you for acceptance.  If you accept, your name will be posted in this thread, along with any other updates.

Once a member, you may post here to suggest adding new members.  Please explain why you are recommending them for membership.

Members may be kicked off the committee by popular vote if they do not continue to welcome new members.  If you are going to be gone for a while, please inform us by posting here.  The point of this committee is to encourage the welcome of new members; it is not an honor society.

For now its just a title, to make you feel special.    Also because you requested it.  But if someone comes up with an idea to make positions functional, post here.  I'm not smart enough to form this committee all on my own, you know.

I would say you're taking a lot of liberties in setting up a committee and throwing titles around like it's your place....
But whatever floats your boat...

Un-official, patio, un-official.  The whole point is to encourage the welcoming of new members.  The titles are just for fun, and perhaps to provide some small incentive.  Don't miss the point.
