I recently purchased a 'refurbished' computer (no manuals or installation CDs), and I'm not getting any sound. I know my speakers work. Any ideas?
Here's what info I got from Unknown Devices:

Chipset: SiS 65
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
Nvidia Corp GeForce FX 2500 [NV34.3]

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Is the sound integrated in the motherboard, or a separate card?

I believe it's integrated. I opened the PCU and where the speakers plug in, there's a mustard yellow box with pins.

When you say "refurbished"...what was fixed and/or replaced?
