That's exactly how we judge what software gets listed here. You shouldn't have to opt out of additional "baggage"... ever!

If it's not pre-checked we don't list it.

Must be thanks to us ;D

If next update stays the same way, I'll remove it from the list.

* Buzzkill!

Not true. It wanted to install Bing/MSN two days ago when I was updating my aunts computer.

The option to install the add ons won't show up every time.

Here ya go. Sometimes you have to try a few different installers to get it. This is from the Sun Java Online Installer.

Yea, I was surprised to see the Yahoo Toolbar. Usually it's MSN.

I should have mentioned, I used the offline installer from java.sun.com.

In the offline installer of Java RE 6 Update 15, the Yahoo! Toolbar offered and checked be default.  It seems strange that they would remove it from the offline installer but not the online installer.

It used to be the Google Toolbar and now it's either MSN/Bing, Yahoo and (I think) Open Office. See here for another screenshot of mine and scroll down to my comment. It was just happening with the www.java.com installer but now it will happen with all of the installers but not all of the time.

It's also strange that Sun and Microsoft would partner up since Open Office is a threat to the entire line Microsoft Office software.
