Sorry,But I thought that I had mentioned that,BUT on looking back on the original opening post,I realised that I hadnt mentioned that.......
When I deleted Windows 98,I deleted ALL programs thru control panel and then add/remove all Windows 98 programs.
I have a Windows NT program BUT the tower wont accept it at all.
When I put the CD into the CD Rom nothing happens at all,it just comes up with the ' NTLDR is missing...press key to start' and nothing happens,
NO nothing inside the tower has been touched at all
    Have a great day.

Then you have not actually "removed" Windows 98. You have merely deleted a number of programs. The Windows 98 boot sector and boot loader are still in place, I think. (Summary: that isn't the way to remove an unwanted operating system)

I have asked you already to tell me HOW you are doing this, but you have not answered. When you first put the CD in,  something must have happened, because "NTLDR is missing" is an NT message, nothing to do with Win98. What happened after you first installed the CD? Or did this happen right from the start? Have you got any other OS install CDs you can try out?

What happens if you restart the computer

    1. With the CD in the drive (no floppy)
    2. With the floppy (no CD)
    3. With neither a floppy nor a CD present?

At the moment, I am thinking along these lines: (a) Damaged NT install CD. (b) damaged or loose IDE cable(s) (c) other damaged hardware e.g. motherboard hard drive, etc

You mentioned that you were using floppies? What floppies? An NT4 install set?

Do you mean nothing happens when you press a key like it says in the message?

      OK back to square 1.......
I have cleaned out Windows 98...ALL programs.
I have switched off the tower/computer and switched it on again. Before I have put the NT CD into the reader,I automatically get this NTLDR is missing Press any key to restart,BUT on pressing any button NOTHING happens.
I then switched of the computer, tuned it back on,installed the CD ROM and waited,BUT still I receive the NTLDR is missing, press any ket to restart. When I press any key, there is absolutely nothing.,
Yes I have an NT install floppy set,BUT on installing them into the reader,I get the same message.
I can assure you that the tower was working OK when i switched it on with Windows 98,BUT as soon as I deleted this program,or thought I did, everything went haywire.
When I receive this NTLDR message and I keep my finger onto 'any key' the pining starts and keeps going,BUT again nothing appears on the screen.

      Have a great day.

      the pining starts

      What is that?

Also, something does not make sense here. You say you removed Windows 98 (by your highly unofficial method) and then when you restart -- without any CD-ROM or floppy inserted -- you get an "ntldr is missing" message. That just plain doesn't make sense.

Are you quite sure it was Windows 98 on the PC before?

Travel to bootdisk.com and DLoad the file for Win98SE bootdisk...make sure to get the one with CDRom support.
Extract the file to a clean floppy.
Boot up the machine with the floppy in.
At the A:\ prompt type in format C: /u and hit Enter.
When it finishes remove the floppy insert the NT CD and re-boot.
The NT install should now start.

I have been to bootdisk.com and Dloaded the file for Wnd98SE...
I have put it into the tower, switched on the PC tried to boot up,BUT all I get on the screen is the same message....no luck at all.
When I switch of the PC and restart it i get the message to press F1 for configeration/etc and when i start there again there is no assistants at all.
Next suggestion,or do i take it to a local PC outlet.

So, when booting with a Win98 floppy, you get an "NTLDR is missing" message?

Do you hear seeking noises from the floppy drive? Does its light come on?

The Windows 98 floppy never gets to the A prompt?

How did you make the floppy?

Did you actually extract the file onto the floppy, or did you just copy it?

When you turn your computer on you should see a message that says to press a key to enter setup. It is usually an F key or esc or del. when you press this key you will enter your BIOS. here you need to change your BOOT order or BOOT sequence. You set your CD drive as the first boot device and save changes. Now reboot with your CD in the drive.
