    I hate Windows Vista!!!
    « on: September 20, 2008, 06:40:41 PM »
I got a Dell laptop for Christmas last year and I am having issues with Vista.  We tried to take it off and add Windows XP but it didn't work.  Does anybody know how to do this?  All help is appreciated. :'(

You've had Vista for 9 months or so. What sort of problems are you having?

What are your computer specs: RAM, video card, CPU, etc?
If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?

You have have problems installing XP on a  new computer, theres a good reason for this:
      XP is OLD
Yes, Vista is different, but, if you set your mind to having problems with it, your going to have problems.

What sort of problems are you having? We can try and help you sort them out... but, going back to XP isnt really a great option.

If you do want to go back to XP the first step you should take is to visit Dell's site and enter the laptops service tag # and see if there are XP drivers available for EVERY component in the machine...
      If so we can proceed.
You will need an official Windows XP CD...copies of all those drivers from the Dell site and some tools for wiping that drive.
In the meantime spend some time backing up any data you need from the laptop and then when you've collected the above post back and we can walk you through it...
