    hey everyone,
    i need some help cause yesterday i installed a new operating system on my brothers computer therefor formatting the c drive, and it turns out he didn't like it so i was trying to use the hp recovery driver to reinstall the previous os but all it dose when i click on the drive is gives me a warning not to format the recovery drive and now im really confused so please help!!

    You may have wiped out the backup recovery on your drive when you formatted.

    What is your HP model number ?

      i dont think i wiped it cause it asked me what drive i want to format and i chose the c drive not thee recovery drive and i was wondering how too run the recovery drive if possible
      and the model is a hp530 laptop

        nope nothing on this page helped.... cause most of it was for vista but im running xp.... and somehting on the page said holding f11 but nothing happened but thank for the help so far

          i acces it thought my computer and then i right click and explor this is the only way it will let me look inside if i just double click it says "warning this area of your hard disk contains files used for you system recovery. do not delete or lter these files. anychanges to this partion could prevent and recovery later" and thats it there are n buttons or anything on that screen or anything so yeah...

          Restart your computer and keep tapping F11 as it is booting up. This will take you into the recovery partition.

            f11 dosnt work and there is another partion called os tool here is the screen shot of it

              It did originally have a program to make a 1 time set of recovery disks.

              Are you sure your brother didn't create the recovery CD set  when he got
              the computer?

                yeaqh im sure cause we had no discs to create the back up so he just left it..dose this mean there is no hope??

                  i read the site and there is nothing on my computer that has "PC Help & Tools "....is there maybe somthing i can dowbnload from hp?????
