Because MS and the manufacturers gave up on writing Drivers for dot matrix printers around 1982....

I assume, these are pretty old printers.
I did some search for panasonic kx-p 1624 driver, and the newest one, I can find is from year 2000. Not even XP was out, yet.

i need this printer toprint tattoo patterns on thermographic paper,i am a tattoo artist and i read on a tattooist forum of artist using these dot matrix printers,too be sure their os is up to date,you're right they are pretty old found them at a wharehouse i was doing construction at,thanks for the help though

XP without the eye candy and the most stable OS MS ever shipped...

P.S. Make sure after installing it to install the Service Packs as well...there are 4 of them.
