    USB Pendrive KINGSTON problem
    « on: September 30, 2008, 04:50:28 PM »
    Hello,
I have bought new pendrive KINSTON 8GB and I have problem to write/copy any data/files on this pendrive on any windows xp/vista.
    I have this error:
Can't copy 'filename': Can't found destination file.

    DP(1)0-0+7. Data are lost...

System starting copy( but very very slow...). Normaly on another PC is possible and is fast but on this PC is not possible.
    Motherboard: GA-MA790X-GS4, Athlon X2.
I have all USB options in BIOS settings needed enabled. I s possible that it coud be problem with my motherboard and why(its new motherboard)? another usb devices working... (my another pendrive not KINGSTON working good BUT another 2GB KINGSTON doesn't working too;/). So my KINGSTON 8GB & 2GB doesn't working BUT only on that PC... AND only KINGSTON doesn't working because another pendrives and usb device working on that PC. funny???
    thx for reply

Try the suspect drives on another machine just to make sure.  ;)

If what you are copying contains a lot of files, it will undoubtedly be slow.
For example, a 10mb file will copy faster than 10mb worth of a hundred files.

Also, can you try copying the files one by one?

yep i copy one by one like on screen one 100mb .exe. First time i think that it coud be drivers for KINGSTON  from windows but on another machine working good so drives and drivers are good so I start think that it coud be problem with my new motherboard but another firm usb pendrive works so...???

I re-read your first post and got this.

So only Kingston drives don't work? Other USB Drives work?

          That is very strange....
I did a search online but nothing of relevance came up.

          Has this always happened?

Do the tedious copying to get all your data and then Format the Kingston and see if it performs better after this...
Worked for me on a sluggish thumb drive.
